ESL Scrabble Group for Adults

Richmond Hill Public Library offers a Scrabble Group for adults (18 and over) for whom English is a second language (ESL) and who wish to improve their English language skills.

Scrabble is a fun way to build your vocabulary and meet others.
It is FREE and no registration is required. Volunteers will be there to help you learn the game.

Upcoming Public Consultation Meetings to Discuss The Civic Precinct

On Nov. 30th, 2011 Josephine Vaccaro-Chang attended a Task Force meeting at the Town of Richmond Hill. The focus of the meeting was the proposed new development at Yonge & Major Mackenzie referred to as the Civic Precinct. The Council members reviewed other city centres and discussed their likes/dislikes. In the New Year there will be public consultation meetings which I encourage you to attend. The dates/times will be advertised in The Liberal.

One Night With You will feature three world-class performers–Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Jerry Lee Lewis:

- Kevin Mills (Richmond Hill resident) as Elvis. In 2010 Kevin was ranked second in the world by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. He is currently performing at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City. His career highlights include performing at President Bill Clinton’s Inauguration.

- Stacey Whitton as Marilyn Monroe. Stacey is currently performing with Legends in Concert in Las Vegas.

- Lance Lapinski is currently portraying Rock & Roll piano pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis in the Tony Award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet now playing at the Apollo Theatre in Chicago, IL.

Bru Masters Road Hockey Fundraiser at Richmond Hill Honda – Thanks To All Who Supported This Event

Richmond Hill Honda hosted Bru Masters Road Hockey Fundraiser on July 23, 2011.

Big Thanks to all the sponsors and friends who supported this event!

Paul Bruno, the Richmond Hill resident, put together a team to participate in a ROAD HOCKEY TO CONQUER CANCER, a Dawn-to-Dusk fundraising event with the proceeds going towards The Princess Margaret, one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world.
Paul has been on the Advisory Cabinet of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation for a year, since this event was created. The goal for his team, Bru Masters, is to raise $10,000 for cancer research. To date Paul personally raised $1,670.
