New Travel Program Set to Revolutionize the Industry!
Once upon a time the telephone was a novel idea embraced by only a few, as was the car, the radio and the computer. Now we don’t know how we would live without them. In fact, most of us have more than one of each and rarely leave home without at least one gadget, whether we are driving or not.
And once upon a time, when we did have to venture to far off (or not so far off) lands, our only options were to get there on foot, on horseback, or via stagecoach and stay at an inn or some tiny motel somewhere between home and our destination.
The automobile, the luxury liner, and the airplane revolutionized transportation. Similarly in the last 40 years or so the choice of accommodations became less fragmented and much more luxurious with the development of luxury hotel chains, cottage developments, all-inclusive resorts and, regrettably, the time-share sales industry. We now have almost as many choices about where to go, where to stay, and how we will get there as we do about what we will wear on any given day.
But now yet another revolution in the Canadian travel industry is occurring! Have we learned how to teleport to Mars? No. But a new travel service has arrived that will change the way we think about travel and how much of our hard earned money we are willing to spend to indulge our sense of adventure.
Not so long ago this service was only available in the USA and, but for the determination of one Canadian entrepreneur with a healthy sense of adventure and an aversion to paying more than necessary for anything, it probably would have stayed that way indefinitely.
Making this service available to Canadian travellers proved to be a bit of a daunting task at times due to regulatory and financial considerations, and the new international banking rules resulting from the tragedy of September 2001, but a few short months ago Exclusive Excursions Vacation Club hit the ground running in the GTA and has been gaining traction very quickly ever since.
Exclusive Excursions is neither a travel agency nor a timeshare resale scam. Rather, it is a service that gives travellers direct access to travel providers such as major resorts, cruise lines, car and RV rental agencies, hotels and motels, and even luxury vacation homes all over the world at wholesale prices right through their user friendly website and with the support of several hundred travel specialists who are dedicated only to subscribers to the service.
You see, usually when travel providers make transportation services or accommodations available to wholesalers it usually gets resold trough various distributions channels, each of whom charges an additional fee or percentage, before being made available to the public via a travel agency. All of those fees or commissions drive up the price that the consumer pays. Exclusive Excursions cuts out all the middle men, and all those layers of additional costs, by directly connecting the consumer to travel providers, including luxury vacation home owners from around the world, which results in lower prices than even the sell off sites can offer (because they are resellers who are charging a percentage too) .
Consumers must obtain a membership in order to access the service but the membership fee needs only to be paid once upon registration and, because the prices on travel are so much lower than what is available to the general public, is easily recoverable with what you can save on your very first vacation. In fact, it’s even entirely possible to recover the cost of the membership and your accommodations on the first vacation because the savings are so incredible.
But unlike other travel clubs, Exclusive Excursions does not cater only to certain types of travellers, offer limited travel options or last minute offerings of what other travel agencies could not sell. At any time there are literally thousands of luxury vacation homes, resorts, hotels and motels available in almost any location you can imagine, as well as cruises, cars, flights and even RVs if you feel like impersonating Robin Williams on a family road trip. And because the website is a direct portal to the world, there are a lot more options than you will ever find with any travel agency or .com. It would be hard NOT to find exactly what are looking for at an incredible price. And even if you don’t see it immediately on the site, one of the clubs travel specialists can usually find it for you.
With choice, prices and service like this it’s not hard to understand why Exclusive Excursions Vacation Club is poised to take the Canadian travel industry by storm. It’s up to you whether you want to run for cover or dance in the rain. But if you want to know more about how this incredible program can help broaden your horizons, go to their website at www.exclusiveexcursions.ca or email them at info@exclusiveexcursions.ca and leave your contact information so that a membership specialist can reach you to explain in detail what the club has to offer.

Money Raised – Minna Keeps Her Home
Media is all about bad news. We bring you some good news for a change!
The Foundation raised just under $3000 in about 2 weeks to pay off Minna’s arrears and fix her wheelchair.
When Region became aware of her situation through the publicity Daphne Williamson generated, they stepped in to pay the balance and giving her a rent supplement to make her housing more affordable from now on.

Keep Minna at home
Although I was originally to appear on Local Notes today to talk about the golf tournament, I have chosen to use the spot to make a public appeal to help a terminally ill woman stay housed. I have also arranged for the Georgina Advocate to run the story to help gain support for her.
Minna Mettinen Kekalainen has advanced ALS and an autism spectrum disorder which makes her intolerant of noise and crowds. She has lost her mobility, ability to speak and to consume solid food. Her only remaining passion in life is skydiving, which she does for free courtesy of the Toronto Parachute School in Baldwin, outside Georgina.
Because she prefers to live in isolation and close to the jump zone so that she can easily transport herself in her wheelchair, she rents a house on the airfield where the school is located. However, her housemate died tragically last year, leaving $3500 in arrears that she is now responsible for as the surviving tenant, and has no ability to pay. The ALS Society and ODSP will not pay for the arrears and the repairs to her wheelchair and any money she receives directly from friends will be taken off her income in future months, so she cannot receive donations directly. And she is about to be evicted.
Having no family or other place to go, her only option is care facility, which her doctors and friends feel would take away her will to live. And wait lists are long so she will most certainly be homeless and possibly succumb to her illness before a space became available for her.
Friends have taken turns caring for her and have coordinated volunteers to help, but the arrears need to be paid as soon as possible to prevent her from being homeless.
I have arranged for BMO to open an account for her, in trust, under the Foundation to take donations to pay off her arrears and fix her wheelchair. Your support would be appreciated.

Updates – April 2011
Hi Folks,
I wanted to thank you all for the support that you have shown for the Foundation so far and bring you up to date on some recent developments.
2011 Charitable Golf Tournament
Due to the date being so close the Chamber’s and Mayor’s tournaments, the golf tournament originally planned for May 26, 2011 has been postponed to September 11, 2011 and a new level of hole sponsorship has been added ($250). A $250 sponsorship will get your company’s name and logo on one sign and a $500 sponsorship will get your company’s name and logo on all signs. The early registration deadline for golfers has also been moved to June 31. Please see me for further details.
Pepsi Refresh Foundation
HSWF has registered for a $100,000 grant under the Pepsi Refresh Foundation (Category: Food and Shelter) to address issues of homelessness in York Region. Please click away to support our application and encourage your friends and colleagues to do the same.
