On Saturday, March 7, 2009, the Town of Richmond Hill, Ontario will host its inaugural celebration of International Womens’ Day. A small committee of dynamic women has come together to organise the event. It will be held at the new Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts in our historic downtown area on Yonge St.
The event starts at 1pm and will be a combination of a brief forum led by local female dignitaries which will lead into the viewing of the film, “Iron Jawed Angels” (a mainstream film about how women of our grandmother’s generation fought to win our right to vote.) This will be followed by a networking event at a nearby restaurant and pub.
Tickets are $10 each may be purchased by calling 905-787-8811, on-line at richmondhill.ticketwindow.ca or at the theatre box office.
We are looking for any product or support which you might provide. We are still collecting door prizes. If you know anyone who would like to donate to this wonderful event please contact Angel Freedman.
